“Juicy Rose” is painted on a contrasting turquoise underpainting, with its statement brushstrokes letting this striking colour show through. The rose looks more like a ripe fruit than a flower with its rich magenta and peach tones. This painting is from my “Neon” collection of paintings where a bright contrasting colour shows through gaps in the paint. The turquoise sides of the box wood panel are clearly visible, giving the floater gap a glowing neon effect.
