About Greta
Greta is a multi-award winning artist and oil painter, art tutor, nature-lover and former neuroscientist from Sheffield. She began painting after experiencing burn out in academic research. Striving to reconnect with the natural world, she began painting prolifically and gaining early recognition with the Search Press award for her painting "Mother and Calf" at TALP 2022.
Greta was awarded the Arts Council DYCP grant in August 2022 and began painting full-time, whilst embarking on one-to-one mentorships with Jenny Aitken RSMA, and the world-renowned US painter Lori Putnam. She has exhibited in a number of local and national art exhibitions, notably: the Chelsea Art Society exhibition, and TALP 2023 where her plein air painting "Early Spring at Padley Gorge" won two awards. In February 2023, Greta produced a collection of 15 farm animal paintings in support of CIWF, donating a portion of painting sales to charity.
Greta is also very passionate about spreading the joy of painting, and regularly runs full-day painting workshops and gives demonstrations at art clubs. Her workshops have been described as thoroughly thought-out, inspiring and enjoyable.
