About Greta

Greta is a multi-award winning Lithuanian-British artist and painter, art tutor, and nature-lover based in Sheffield, United Kingdom. She became an artist after leaving a career in Neuroscience research and gained early recognition, winning the Search Press award for her painting "Mother and Calf" at TALP 2022.

Greta was awarded the Arts Council DYCP grant in 2022 which paved the way for one-to-one mentorships with Jenny Aitken RSMA, and the world-renowned US artist Lori Putnam. Greta regularly exhibits in a number of UK national art exhibitions, notably: the Chelsea Art Society summer exhibition, The Royal Cambrian Academy exhibition and "The Artist" Open exhibition, where her plein air painting "Early Spring at Padley Gorge" won two awards in 2023.

Greta is a member of the Peak District Artisans, a well-known regional artist organisation which regularly exhibits and showcases members' work in stunning location in the Midlands and North England, such as Chatsworth House.

Greta is also very passionate about spreading the joy of painting and is a regular contributor to The Artist magazine, writing about neuroscience-backed fundamental principles of painting and demonstrating her process. She also runs regular painting workshops.
