Would you like to learn how to oil paint but not sure where to start?
In one of my workshops, you will learn all of the fundamentals to paint in oils confidently, whilst creating two beautiful landscape paintings that you can take home. You will be supplied with top quality student materials (Winsor&Newton, Daler Rowney, Gamblin) for a truly inspiring and seamless introduction into this medium.
These workshops are perfect for those who want to try out oil painting before committing to it, or for those who want to accelerate or refresh their learning in landscape painting. Each workshop focuses on the fundamental skills in painting (e.g. composition, colour, values, paint application). The skills you learn here will serve you well in any medium.

About Greta
Hello! I am a Sheffield-based landscape and animal oil painter, with hundreds of paintings under my belt and many years of teaching experience. My landscape work has been exhibited throughout the UK and has won several awards, including an Arts Council England grant. You can see my work here.
As a primarily self-taught artist, I am very passionate about teaching others about the principles and techniques to create beautiful paintings. I teach monthly full-day workshops, demonstrate for art clubs and I am a regular contributor to The Artist magazine, where I share my process.
Price - £90, includes:
- Full day's tuition (10:00AM - 3:30PM, with a lunch break)
- Materials: great quality oil paints, canvas boards, non-toxic solvent, rags and paper towels, disposable aprons
- Use of easels and palettes
- Light refreshments and snacks
Deposit - £30 (balance of £60 due a week before the workshop)
What to bring?
A few brushes (2-5 will do!). I recommend synthetic oil brushes, such as these.
Packed lunch (or there are usually cafés nearby)
Willingness to try new things and enthusiasm 🙂
