Create a stunning landscape painting in one of my oil painting workshops, whilst learning all of the fundamentals to paint confidently. I will teach you everything you need to know to start your oil painting journey.
These workshops are perfect for those who want to try out oil painting before committing to it, or for those who want to accelerate their learning and take their landscape painting skills to the next level. The skills you learn will serve you well in other mediums too.
Each workshop focuses on a different aspect of painting (e.g. composition, colour, values, paint application). But we always touch on everything you need to know to begin painting!

About Greta
Hello! I am a Sheffield-based landscape and animal oil painter, with hundreds of paintings under my belt and many years of teaching experience. My landscape work has been exhibited throughout the UK and has won several awards, including an Arts Council England grant. You can see my work here.
As a primarily self-taught artist, I am very passionate about teaching others about the principles and techniques to create beautiful paintings. Before I became a full-time artist, I was a Neuroscientist at the University of York, where I taught scientific research principles to Masters and Bachelors students.
I am now thrilled to use my teaching skills and my knowledge of how the brain works to share my true love - painting - with you!
Price - £90, includes:
- Full day's tuition (10:00AM - 3:30PM, with a lunch break)
- Materials: oil paints, canvas boards, non-toxic solvent, rags and paper towels, disposable aprons
- Use of easels and palettes
- Light refreshments and snacks
Deposit - £30 (balance of £60 due a week before the workshop)
What to bring?
A few brushes (2-5 will do!). I recommend synthetic oil brushes, such as these.
Packed lunch (or there are usually cafés nearby)
