Testimonials

Greta's oil painting workshop was very enjoyable. It was well run and the resources were very good, everything needed was supplied even down to wrapping wet oil boards so we could transport home. Greta's teaching method is very thorough and friendly and the pace was spot on. I would not hesitate in attending other workshops. Many thanks.

- Peter

Greta's workshop was a delight! This was my first experience using oil paints and Greta made the whole experience accessible and fun. We learned specific techniques to build an image using shape and colour, including tricks for painting that take advantage of the ways our brains are wired to understand what we are seeing. I would highly recommend Greta's painting workshops!

- Kate

What a fantastic day, the first time l have tried oils, Greta is a wonderful patient teacher, if you get an opportunity to have a class with Greta l thoroughly recommend it.

About Greta

Hello! I am a Sheffield-based landscape and animal oil painter, with hundreds of paintings under my belt and many years of teaching experience. My landscape work has been exhibited throughout the UK and has won several awards, including an Arts Council England grant. You can see my work here.

As a primarily self-taught artist, I am very passionate about teaching others about the principles and techniques to create beautiful paintings. Before I became a full-time artist, I was a Neuroscientist at the University of York, where I taught scientific research principles to Masters and Bachelors students.

I am now thrilled to use my teaching skills and my knowledge of how the brain works to share my true love - painting - with you!
