Moving light over Llyn Ogwen

Plein air painting created on a windy hill in North Wales.

Whilst on the drive to a walk, I spotted a gorgeous mountain vista across the LLyn Ogwen lake. I went straight up the nearest hill and set up on a grassy slope. It was windy and I had to hold my easel from flying away. The clouds were moving fast and the light on the mountains kept changing. It created a gorgeous tapestry of light and dark shapes on the mountains, I just had to decide (and stick to!) where the light will be in my painting.
